I will be reading this Thursday at Bucket O’ Blood

The shop is right by three of my other favorite Logan Square institutions: Cafe Mustache, 2 Amigos Restaurant, and Cole’s Bar.

That’s this Thursday, 23 August, at or around 7pm. (Well, after 7pm; we’ll no doubt start a little late, as such events tend to.) Also reading and performing will be BO’B’s own Marc Ruvolo and Davey Houle, and I hear there might be some music in addition to fiction and poetry. I intend to debut some new material, as well as a slick new haircut!

Bucket O’ Blood is an utterly wonderful little bookstore and record shop in Logan Square. They specialize in science-fiction, fantasy, and horror (and they have other things as well), and they are one of my favorite bookstores in Chicago, due to their Marc and Davey’s excellent taste in both fiction and used book quality.

This event is free and open to all and is BYOB. There may also be an actual bucket o’ blood on hand for refreshment purposes.

Sunday Night Sex Show (reading reminder)

I’ll be reading/performing this coming Sunday (28 August) at the Sunday Night Sex Show. The theme is “HOT DUDES FOR A HOT MONTH.” I’ll try my best not to disappoint. But in case I do, also reading will be Alex Bonner, Paul Grens, Matt Rowan, Steve Tartaglione, and Christian Woodruff.

What to Wear During an Orange Alert? (August reading)

I will also be reading, next month, at the series “What to Wear During an Orange Alert?” Friday, 19 August, 6pm, at The Whistler (Logan Square, Chicago).

This is an older photo, and the window display changes a lot. It's all white at the moment. But there will probably still be two bikes parked outside.

And before that, there’s an Orange Alert this Sunday, July 17th at 6pm, also at the Whistler, and featuring Peter Schwartz, Jesús Ángel García, Barry Graham, Lindsay Hunter, Steve Himmer. I wish I could go, because Lindsay’s a lovely person, and Steve seems very nice, and Jesús is an online friend whom I’ve wanted to meet for some time now. And I’m sure the other two fellows are nice as well. But I’ll be out of town.
