2. Giant Slugs (a novel) (Lawrence & Gibson, 2011)

Giant Slugs is a critique of the Iraq War by way of a retelling of The Epic of Gilgamesh. An invasion of Giant Slugs forces the unnamed narrator to evacuate his home city of Uruk, where he was next in line for the throne. Now on the road, and reluctantly aided by his brother, the popular DJ Kid Emu, the young man desperately searches for a means of defeating the Giant Slugs and reclaiming his rightful place as king.
