Because it’s been one of those weeks:

My faev part of the song by far are the backing vocals in the final bit, which Tori sings up front in this live version. When I was younger, I listened to the song dozens of times, trying to make those words out, so I could sing them myself.

I was a huge Tori Amos fan back in college, up through Boys for Pele. With Choirgirl, my attention started slipping, and I never bought any of the later albums. I only revisited her music in the past year or so.

I like the album version (below) but have always had a soft spot for this alternate version.
